The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) released a new research report today, Students and courses 2010 – preliminary data, which provides a snapshot of training activity in Australia.
The report shows that 1.8 million students enrolled in the national public vocational education and training (VET) system in 2010, an increase of 5.4% from 2009.
Each state and territory reported increases last year, with the greatest increases reported in Tasmania (14.6%), Australian Capital Territory (10.8%) and New South Wales (6.1%). In Western Australia, the increase was 5.5% -- slightly higher than the national average.
